【摘要】:Thispracticedescribestestcriteriasuitableforqualificationofpolyethylenesaddle-fusedjoints.Thesetestsmaybeconductedbysuppliersoruserstoqualifysaddle-fusedjointsinaccordancewiththerequirementsfoundintheDepartmentofTransportation(DOT)CodeofFederalRegulations(CFR)Title49,Part192.283.Atthediscretionoftheenduser,thesetestsmayalsobeconductedbyuserstoqualifypersonnelmakingsaddlefusionjointsperDOTCFR49,Part192.285.Theimpactresistancetestdescribedisanonstandardtest.ThisisnottheonlytestthatmaybeusedtoqualifysaddlefusionjointsperDOTregulations.Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversiontoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
